For most of her life Phyllis was a stay at home Wife and Mother until her youngest child went to Secondary School and she decided to break free and do something different. She auditioned for the local Amateur Drama Society who were staging Oliver Goldsmith's 'She Stoops to Conquer' and was delighted to be offered a small part. Their next production was J.B. Priestly's 'When We are Married' in which she was cast in a main role, she realise this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life!
