Timothy V Murphy was born in County Kerry, Ireland. He began his acting career in Dublin, where he trained in the Focus Theatre. He is now based in Los Angeles. As an actor, Tim is the embodiment of Irish charm, humor and magnetism. As a veteran actor of film, television and stage working on both sides of the Atlantic, he possesses a talent so versatile that he can as easily make your blood run cold as make you laugh out loud, and in a variety of accents.
In the last 2 years alone, he has portrayed the sexy ex-con who grabs more than Jane Fonda’s attention on the hit Netflix comedy, GRACE AND FRANKIE, had a pivotal role on season two of HBO’s critically-acclaimed TRUE DETECTIVE, and was a series regular on the new FX drama from Kurt Sutter, THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER.
His theatre credits include THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE, THE LOST PLAYS OF TENNESSEE WILLIAMS and he played the role of Jake in the world premiere of STONES IN HIS POCKETS at the Tivoli Theatre, Dublin. im is also an award winning stage actor and lifetime member of The Actor’s Studio L.A.
